Associate - Urban Development

Sangami is an urban enthusiast interested in making the cities better for people to live in by working towards safe, vibrant, sustainable and inclusive solutions. At ITDP India, she is engaged with Chennai’s urban and transport development departments. She is involved in Travel Demand Management initiatives, Safe Route to School program, Multi-Modal integration accessibility audits, Transit Oriented and compact city development. Her work has spread across in formulation of policies, research and action plans. She is also exploring her interest in Data-driven decision-making approaches and Road safety initiatives.

Sangami is an Architect – Urban Planner with more than 2.5 years of professional experience. She pursued her Master’s in Urban Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, after her Bachelor’s in Architecture from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. Before joining ITDP India Programme, She worked as Urban Planner at HCPDPM, Ahmedabad and has experience working on large-scale urban projects such as Development/ Master Plans, Riverfront Strategies, Formulation of Development Control Regulations etc.

She is a homebody who loves to doodle, watch cricket and indulge in music. She is an instrumentalist and can play Keyboard, Veena and Flute. She makes trips occasionally to explore beaches and coasts.
